Welcome

Hello and welcome to the New Life in Christ website.  At New Life we are committed to share with you the truth about the word of God.   We have dedicated this website to help people understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ, repentance toward God, why and how to be born again and biblical discipleship.

Overview of the New life In Christ Web Site

The New Life in Christ website has been established for spreading the truth about the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is taught and lived out by a body of believers located in central Virginia, in the town of Somerset.  We hold to the doctrines of Jesus Christ, the same doctrines (apostles' doctrine) in which the early believers trusted and lived out in their daily lives.   Together in one accord, we gather up in the name of the Lord Jesus, in the word of God (apostles' doctrine), in fellowship, in breaking of bread and in prayers.

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."  Acts 2:42

We desire to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength; and to love our neighbor as ourselves; to glorify the name of Christ and desire that His name be glorified in all the earth.

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."   Mark 12:30-31

"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore."  Psalm 86:12

While the New Life in Christ website is a reflection of our new lives in Christ, our love for His word, and our love for the lost to hear the gospel, it is not a website designed to focus on us as a fellowship or ministry. The focus on this website is to reveal, through the oracles of God, that mankind is in desperate need of salvation through Jesus Christ. We trust that God will send His Holy Spirit, as He has promised, to convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.

"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment; of sin because they do not believe in Me; and of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."  John 16:8-10

We know the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important truth that every human being must hear and ultimately make a decision to receive or reject.  All must choose:  Believe it and live it out, or reject it and face judgment one day before the God of all creation.  We encourage you to take the time to read and listen to the four core teachings on this website.

Overview of our Gatherings

Before the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to be at the right hand of the Father, He commanded His disciples to wait for the promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit.

"And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which He said, 'you have heard from me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.' ”  Acts 1:4-5

Then, in Acts 2, we witness the birth of Jesus Christ’s Church. This birth took place out of a gathering of saints, together in one accord, in committed fellowship, with obedience to the Lord’s command.

"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."  Acts 2:1-4

At New Life Fellowship our gatherings are based on the same principles as the early church believers. We have been called together into the fellowship of the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord.

"God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."  1 Corinthians 1:9

We, in one accord, acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the son of God and our fellowship with one another is based on the truth of His gospel and the entirety of His word.  We continue to gather around God's word, in loving fellowship, in meals and in corporate prayer.

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."  Acts 2:42

When we gather, our hearts are centered on the leading of the Holy Spirit to minister to all the saints.  God’s great spiritual gifts are given to each one for the profit of all.

"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all....." 1 Corinthians 12:7

As we gather the Lord provides, through His body, what is needed to edify the saints.

"How is it then, brethren?  Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification."  1 Corinthians 14:26

At New Life Fellowship we encourage daily fellowship with one another, to encourage one another to stay in the faith. We also consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.

"Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin."  Hebrews 3:12-13

"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."   Hebrews 10:24-25

The New Life Fellowship Saints Gather from House to House.

"So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all people.  And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."  Acts 2:46-47

"The churches of Asia greet you.  Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house."  1 Corinthians 16:19

"Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas and the church that is in his house. "   Colossians 4:15

"To Philemon our beloved friend and fellow laborer, to the beloved Apphia, Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:... "  Philemon 1:1-2

The word church used in the New Testament scripture is the Greek word ‘ekklesia’ meaning a calling out or called out ones.

"However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands,..."   Acts 7:48
