Hello. My name is Larry Haney and I am 66 years old.  My wife is Donna and we have been married 47 years.  I was called by God to be an elder in New Life Fellowship and I would like to share with you my testimony of how the Lord changed my life.

I started going to church at an early age and was baptized at 12 years old.  But I really didn't understand what baptism meant.  I just did it because it seemed to be the right thing to do.  A little while afterward, I discontinued going to church until the birth of my first son.  We then, as a family, returned to the church because I wanted my two sons to learn things about God.  I believed myself to be ok with the Lord because I went to church and I believed that Jesus had died on the cross for my sins.  

Then at the age of 55, I became very ill and was put in the hospital. While I was in the hospital, the Lord touched me and showed me that if I died I was not truly saved even though, all that time, I thought I was saved.  He showed me that I was still living in sin.  So I did everything I knew to make myself right with the Lord by asking His forgiveness.  I have to admit I felt, at that time, that things were going pretty well.  But I realized that there was still something missing, still something not quite right.

Then one day, while attending a church service, I heard a message that I had never heard before.  I thought I was good but, in Matthew 19:17, Jesus said "...no one is good but One, that is God.  But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."  This showed me that I needed to die to myself because Jesus Christ died for me and I was to keep Jesus' commandments.  My eyes were opened that day in a way as never before.  I began following the teachings being given from the scriptures and they were showing me things I had never been taught and surely had never done.  I have to admit this was my fault for not reading the word of God more, as I should have been doing.  In these teachings, God's word showed me that Jesus' blood was shed on the cross for me, that I must repent and turn from my sin, that I must be baptized in the name of Jesus, and that I was promised the gift of the Holy Spirit.  And just as God's word promised, when I did these things, I received the Holy Spirit.  From that day until now, I have continued to grow in the ways of the Lord and I know, if you will look into this website, you will receive the same teachings that will show you what the Lord wants of you.  I thank God He loved me so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die on a cross for my sins.  He has done this for you as well, if you will give your life over to Him.
